EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Evansville marked a historic milestone Monday evening as Ben Trockman was elected as City Council President during the council’s first meeting of 2025. Trockman is the first person with a physical disability to hold this leadership role, an accomplishment that reflects his years of advocacy for inclusion and accessibility.
Trockman’s journey began after a life-altering motocross accident in 2006, leaving him paralyzed in all four limbs. Determined to turn his challenges into opportunities, he graduated from Harrison High School and the University of Southern Indiana, building a career as a communicator, advocate, and leader in his community.
