Attorney claims lawful action in Milwaukee hotel death case [Video]

The four men charged in the death of a man outside of a downtown Milwaukee hotel are now in custody. Todd Erickson, Devin Johnson-Carson, Brandon Turner and Herbert Williamson are charged in the death of D’Vontaye Mitchell on June 30.WISN 12 News reporter Kendall Keys spoke exclusively with Turner’s defense attorney Friday. “I’m confident that the evidence is going to show that he acted lawfully from beginning to end,” Attorney Matt Last with Van Severen Law Office, said. Prosecutors charged Turner with felony murder and allege Turner helped cause Mitchell’s death while committing the misdemeanor crime of battery. “The fact that Mr. Mitchell lost his life is a terrible thing. But that does not mean that Mr. Turner is responsible for that,” Last said.
