Amazon prime day doesnt outshine local businesses [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Lots of online buzz Tuesday as the annual Amazon Prime Day kicks off and thousands of products across the site go on sale.

Local Rapid City businesses say they don’t feel pushed to the side as shoppers may gravitate toward those convenient online deals. Most local businesses feel they compete with big companies every day.

But other Rapid City store owners say business doesn’t take a hit on Prime Day when those online sales pick up.

”I think Amazon Prime Day can be a little bit of a challenge for all local businesses because of the convenience of shopping online for people. But we offer a lot of really unique things in our store, curated items and a great local community and great customer service and so that’s what we do to, you know, stay alive!” Karma Boutique store manager Sydney Bradski said.
