SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Several Hispanic-owned businesses in Arkansas closed their doors Monday in solidarity with “A Day Without Immigrants,” a nationwide movement meant to highlight the contributions of immigrants to local communities.
Con Pilas, a popular Springdale coffee shop, was among the businesses that temporarily shut down. The shop announced its closure in an Instagram video that quickly gained traction, racking up more than 75,000 views and over 5,000 comments.
