Nebraska organization aims to empower small businesses through new program [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Urban League of Nebraska is working to empower small businesses by securing contracts through a new program.

In a statement Friday, the Urban League of Nebraska announced the “Nebraska Opportunity Exchange”, a program that aims to support underrepresented small businesses in Nebraska.

The program works to provide small businesses with “… the tools, resources, and expert-led training to access capital, navigate government and corporate contracting, and thrive in today’s businesses landscape,” according to the statement.

The Urban League looks to work with minority, women, and veteran business owners, who face underrepresentation when it comes to securing federal government contracts.

“There are opportunities that are out there that sometimes some of these small business owners don’t see because they’re doing that work every day,” Urban League of Nebraska President Wayne Brown said.
