Steve Scalise, majority leader in the House of Representatives, joined Tommy Tucker on WWL Radio in New Orleans to discuss the motive, impact, and investigation into the Bourbon Street terrorist attack.
“I think now the resources are coming to bear. I talked to Governor Landry yesterday to make sure they have everything they need,” Scalise said when asked to explain his ongoing conversations with the White House and Homeland Security. “The disappointing thing is that it’s after the fact. You don’t want to look back and see what we missed. Clearly, there were things we missed here, and it led to 15 lives lost.”
Scalise expanded on his belief that large federal agencies have lost sight of their mission, “It seems the further away we get from September 11th, the closer we are to September 10th. It’s the attitude of ‘It can’t happen again.’ It just did…I think they let their guard …
