ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) courses that were going to be required this fall at some Virginia public colleges and universities are now being removed from the curriculum, and many are blaming Governor Glenn Youngkin’s administration.
Now, 10 student body presidents from public universities from around the Commonwealth formed the Coalition of Student Body Presidents, to unite and ask the Governor to listen to its concerns.
The universities inside the coalition are George Mason University (GMU), Virginia Tech (VT), James Madison University (JMU), University of Virginia (UVA), Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Longwood University, Mary Washington (UMW), Norfolk State (NSU), Christopher Newport (CNU), and the College of William and Mary (WM).
