Black women have been curating the party vibes since the beginning of time. Unsurprisingly, they’re also the masterminds behind various products in the wine and spirit industry, including vodka.

According to Pronghorn, the stand-alone business created to build the first-ever blueprint on how to diversify any industry, starting with the Black community in the spirits industry, Black people only make up 8% of the industry’s labor force, with only 2% accounting for the executives in the space despite representing 12% of consumers responsible for spending their dollars on wines and spirits industry products nationwide.

As the culture celebrates National Vodka Day on Oct. 4, it is important to take time to highlight the Black women-owned brands available to patrons all over the nation. From Maryland to New York, these ladies are behind some of the new vodka offerings awaiting you (21 and up, of course, because we drink responsibly over here).
