Alex Morgan announces retirement from San Diego Wave soccer [Video]

SAN DIEGO — Soccer icon Alex Morgan has announced that she is pregnant with her second child and will be retiring from the San Diego Wave and professional soccer after “one last game”.

Morgan, considered one of the greatest players in U.S. Women’s National Team history and also one of the most popular and recognized soccer stars will play her final game against the North Carolina Courage at Snapdragon Stadium on Sunday, September 8.

The 35-year-old soccer icon made the announcement in a video posted on social media Thursday morning. 

In the video, she said, “I’m going to get to the point quickly.. I’m retiring”.
