Benedict College extends president’s contract [Video]

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Benedict College Board of Trustees has announced it has extended the contract of President Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis for another seven years, through June 2031.

Although Benedict College was founded by a woman, Bathsheba A Benedict, in 1870, Dr. Artis is the Historically Black College and University’s (HBCU) 14th president and the first female president and CEO. She began her term at Benedict College in 2017 and, under her leadership, has successfully completed The B.E.S.T. five-year strategic plan in a record three years.
