The market is open every Tuesday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Black Farmers Market is in its third season of bringing together local farmers, small business owners, and foodpreneurs in South Memphis.

Small business owner Brittney Sessoms returned to the market as an event organizer after participating for the first time in 2023. “I was a vendor with my company, Charlotte & Pickens, along with my godmother, [owner of] Crawford’s Garden Starters. And so this year, I came on as a partner,” she said.

The Black Clergy Collaborative of Memphis founded the event in 2022. It has opened every year on Juneteenth. “Of course, we know that weekend is really about liberation, and we know our connection to the land,” Sessoms said.

The market is open from 3-6 p.m. every Tuesday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. It runs until Sept. 24.
