SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – A Springfield business is bringing culture from other countries to the City of Firsts.

Western Mass News is highlighting a small-business owner who is making its mark in the local community.

From selling food from a van to now having his Latino-owned business that has become a haven for many in the Springfield community, Amando Vasquez came to Springfield all the way from Florida three years ago with a van and a dream.

“We started to do our business in a van, selling bread and selling products from boxes and one day we decided to find a place,” he told us.

Vasquez shared what ignited the spark to start a business.

“Well, now there are some supermarkets that you can find but before there were almost none.”
