MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – As the only bilingual theatre group in Tennessee, Cazateatro provides bilingual education and transformative multicultural experiences that showcase the vibrancy and diversity of Latin American art and culture.
Dorimar Ferrer is the executive director at Cazateatro. “I am Puerto Rican every day and every hour,” Ferrer said. “Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity for me to say, ‘Hey, I‘m Puerto Rican, I am here.’”
For over a decade, Ferrer has taken pride in presenting artistic storytelling through a Latin lens.
“There was a need,” Ferrer said. “We needed to do it and for us to open that door to say we are here, we love our art. We want to be here and celebrate our culture and arts with the community.”
