27 new condos coming to Alger Heights neighborhood [Video]

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday at the former Seymour Christian School in the Alger Heights neighborhood, celebrating the start of construction on 27 new condos.

The project by ICCF Community Homes is called the Seymour initiative. It is a $14 million development that will create 27 two-story condominium homes. ICCF leaders said the project is focused on creating affordable and inclusive housing.

ICCF said 14 homes will be sold to households at or below 80% of the area median income. Thirteen will be sold to those at or below 120% AMI.

ICCF is building the new condos inside of the old school building. It is working to keep the charm of the old brick building while updating and putting on additions for the condos.
