Video released of suspected truck that hit, critically injured Nashville business owner [Video]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Metro Nashville police have released a video of the suspected truck that hit and critically injured a Nashville business owner on June 19.

Police are continuing to work to identify the pickup truck driver that hit and injured 42-year-old Matthew Carney, the owner of the Smokin Thighs Restaurant. Now, police believe that the vehicle is a 2001-2004 gray/silver Nissan Frontier with black rims.

The truck can partially be seen in a surveillance video released by MNPD. The pickup truck came from the rear of Smokin Thighs on Wedgewood Avenue just before 6 p.m. at a high rate of speed, MNPD said.

Carney was thrown off the truck onto the Wedgewood Avenue pavement, police said. The truck is believed to have turned right onto nearby Bransford Avenue.
