Newton hosts US Adaptive Open [Video]

NEWTON, Kan. (KAKE) – In a world where inclusion is limited, many people with disabilities are finding acceptance in the world of golf. 

The 3rd annual US Adaptive Open is where golfers compete in eight different impairment categories.  

Amanda Cunha has played golf since she was five years old.  She lost her vision between her junior and senior years and did not know if she wanted to compete in her varsity year as a senior. Cunha went back and forth with the idea and decided to continue and she is glad she did.  

The golfers face disabilities ranging from visual to upper and lower limb impairments.
