MSP investigating string of counterfeit bills used in Calhoun Co. [Video]

CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — Michigan State Police troopers are investigating a string of counterfeit bills being used at local area businesses in Tekonsha Township.

According to MSP, suspects have entered the stores throughout the last month, given them fake cash and had the money put on an online card. 

MSP said the suspect is a Black woman in her early to mid-20s. She’s been seen wearing a black sweatshirt and yellow hair wrap. 

The suspect is believed to be working with a crew of people to pass the fake bills, MSP said. 

Troopers are urging local businesses to be mindful if they’re given large amounts of cash and to be sure to take extra steps to determine whether or not the money is real.
