“It can be huge.” Local businesses are preparing for a high volume of visitors for the eclipse | News [Video]

J-Ford’s is expecting lots of customers to walk in on eclipse day. Baesler’s Market is also stocking up on basic needs.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Many businesses are anticipating a high volume of customers leading up to the eclipse on April 8.

Co-Owner Jeff Ford at J-Ford’s Black Angus, is preparing to feed a lot of people at his restaurant come eclipse weekend.

“We’re excited about new customers, showing them a good time, showing them how special Terre Haute is, and just bringing out the best game for them,” said Ford. 

The total solar eclipse gives local businesses a chance to highlight their establishments to welcome visitors. While there are no reservations now for that weekend at J-Ford’s, they anticipate people will start running at the last minute.

To accommodate the needs of hungry customers on eclipse weekend, the restaurant will stay open an extra day.
