The term “DEI” is now being widely recognized as a substitute for the N-word to be used toward Black people, including Vice President Kamala Harris.

As Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign is up and running, the attacks directed toward her by Republican politicians and other right-wing figures have had one common phrase – DEI, which stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Many are noting that it is being used in place of the n-word slur to describe Harris and other Black individuals, as expressed by Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross. “You name a Black successful person, they’re labeled “a DEI hire”.
