Grant opportunity for Shelby County small nonprofits [Video]

The money is offered by the Philanthropic Black Women of Memphis, with their annual grant cycle

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County nonprofits will have the chance to apply for a $5,000 grant, offered by the Philanthropic Black Women of Memphis (PBWM), thanks to their annual grant cycle.

Eligible non profits are those based in Shelby County that have a yearly budget of less than $250,000. Nonprofits should also have tax documents that prove their tax-exempt designation (501(c) (3) from the Internal Revenue Service). In the past, nonprofits who have received the grants had worked on career development, education, entrepreneurship, scholarship and health.

“It is our responsibility to give back to the community that has given us so much,” said Sharon Devine Harris, PBWM President. “Our members look forward to reviewing the applications and awarding grants to organizations providing exceptional support to our residents.”
