Get ready to lace up your runners for the 26th annual Cook Medical Mini Marathon! [Video]

THE Cook Medical Mini Marathon is returning this October 6 for its 26th year.

Since 1999, the 5k and 10k marathon has taken to Limerick to raise vital funds for charity.

This autumn will see thousands of runners take part in the race in the University of Limerick (UL) Sports Arena at 12 noon.

Over the last four years, the event raised almost €150,000 for local charities and organisers are hoping that this year’s all-inclusive race will beat last year’s total of €35,000.

“We are hoping to push on numbers. We had 3,000 people last year and we are hoping to have similar numbers this year,” said John Cleary, race director.

“We have a target this year of surpassing our €40,000 charity fundraising goal for 2023 so if we can do that, it will be great and everyone will be a winner.”

Cook Medical has also announced at the launch that they will be continuing to sponsor the annual race until 2027.
