Extensive Broadway road construction impacting community in Toledos south end [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) -People living and working near Broadway St. and Western Ave. are expressing their concerns to city leaders that some small businesses could be at stake.

“Repairing the road is great but the quality of life has a lot more to do than a fancy road, said a community member.

“He says he doesn’t have a choice. He’ll have to close”, said a translator for the owner of small business El Rincon.

Helping to bring these concerns to leaders with the city of Toledo is the Latino Alliance of Northwest Ohio. The group heading a panel discussion Thursday night.

“Communication continues to be the biggest issue,” said President of the group, Aleiah Jones. “The community will benefit from all of this. We’re just trying to make sure that our businesses and our neighbors are able to get there so that we can reap the benefits.”
