HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Lawmakers continue to work towards legalizing adult use recreational marijuana.

On Tuesday, the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus said they have policies they would like to see incorporated.

One of the messages is ‘do not legalize until you equalize.’

“It is time that we invest in the restoration of communities that have been impacted. We return incarcerated persons to their families, and we provide entrepreneurs with a pathway to lead in this emerging marketplace,” said Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus chair Representative Napoleon Nelson.

The Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus says if the state is going to legalize adult use cannabis, it has to be done right.

“Not just in terms of how much money we bring into state, but how we can help repair society from a place of public health and wellness and also social equity,” said Democratic Representative Chris Rabb.
