Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in Central Texas [Video]

National Hispanic Heritage Month is in full swing, and communities throughout Central Texas are uniting to honor their culture’s rich diversity and heritage.

WACO, Texas — As National Hispanic Heritage Month is well underway, communities across Central Texas are coming together to celebrate the rich diversity and heritage of the Hispanic community. This annual observance runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, serving as a particular time for celebration, remembrance and education about Hispanic culture and history.

At the forefront of these celebrations is the Waco Hispanic Museum, where local leaders and residents share stories and experiences that highlight the significance of this month. Louis Garcia, Chairman of the Waco Hispanic Museum, emphasized the importance of family and community in Hispanic culture.

“Going back and hearing their personal stories…brings me immense joy,” Garcia told 6 News. “It’s a privilege to connect with those who have experienced so much.”

Garcia believes that the essence of the Hispanic community lies in its solid familial bond.
