In response to a new Texas law banning diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, the University of Texas at Austin closed its Division of Campus and Community Engagement office and fired dozens of professors, which the law’s author, Senator Brandon Creighton, called “consequences of making a change.”
